Requirements

  • Chartered Accountant (CA) qualification mandatory/preferred.
  • Minimum 15+ years of total professional experience.
  • Minimum 10+ years of Oman experience preferred.
  • Strong practical knowledge of Oman VAT and tax compliance.
  • Extensive understanding of Oman accounting and financial-reporting practices.
  • Experience with construction and/or trading company accounts.
  • Strong knowledge of project costing, profitability, and cash-flow management.
  • Experience handling banking and working-capital facilities.
  • Knowledge of payroll and employee-related accounting.
  • Strong audit and statutory-compliance experience.
  • Experience managing supplier and customer credit.
  • Good understanding of Oman’s business and commercial environment.
  • Previous experience as a Finance Partner, CFO, Finance Director, or Senior Finance Manager is highly desirable.
  • Experience in construction, contracting, trading, or professional services is an advantage.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting software and ERP systems.
  • Excellent English communication, analytical, and financial-management skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead overall financial management and support strategic financial decision-making.
  • Manage accounting, finance, taxation, audit, and compliance functions.
  • Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Supervise general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and bank reconciliations.
  • Manage cash flow, working capital, budgeting, and financial forecasting.
  • Prepare annual budgets and monitor actual performance against budget.
  • Advise management and partners on profitability, cost control, investments, and financial strategy.
  • Coordinate with external auditors and manage statutory audit requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with Oman VAT, taxation, and corporate regulatory requirements.
  • Review VAT calculations, returns, reconciliations, and supporting documentation.
  • Liaise with auditors, tax consultants, banks, and government authorities.
  • Establish and maintain effective internal controls and financial procedures.
  • Monitor project-wise costs, profitability, and cash flow.
  • Review contracts, commercial terms, financial risks, and payment conditions.
  • Monitor customer receivables, supplier payables, and overdue balances.
  • Develop financial MIS and management reports.
  • Conduct financial analysis and identify cost-reduction opportunities.
  • Manage banking relationships, facilities, guarantees, and working-capital requirements.
  • Evaluate the financial implications of new projects and investment opportunities.
  • Supervise accounting and finance teams and provide technical guidance.
  • Identify financial, operational, and compliance risks.
  • Participate in business strategy, expansion planning, and commercial negotiations.
